No time for leisure with busy Charleston Scene
The original idea for this column was simple enough: There are always plenty of things to do in the Lowcountry. For a city of its size, Charleston always has been virtually unlimited in its offerings of leisurely activities, and rarely does a week go by when there isn't some interesting happening or event on the horizon. From monster trucks to bookstore browsing -- low brow to high, high culture to pop culture -- for nearly two years, any and every pastime imaginable has been deemed "Lowcountry Leisure"-worthy.
With this final issue of Preview, "Lowcountry Leisure" is coming to an end, but it is a happy ending. Starting next week, readers of the new Charleston Scene will be informed of fun-filled local happenings, only more in depth and comprehensively than ever before. We at Preview are excited about this new venture, and rest assured, once it's in your hands, you will be, too. As the name implies, Charleston Scene will keep readers abreast of every leisurely Lowcountry activity, and then some.
And this writer isn't going anywhere. In addition to my bar column, I still will be covering local happenings, only broadening that coverage to include not only the good things in the Lowcountry -- but weighing them against the bad. Next week, this will all become apparent. Stay tuned -- you'll be glad you did.
