Henry Rollins
Punk rock, spoken word and a lifetime of experience descend on the Music Farm
This March is definitely coming in like a lion. Former Black Flag front man and spoken-word icon Henry Rollins takes the stage at the Music Farm on Friday.
In an era of talking heads, the tattooed dynamo is known for his earnest politics and straightforward observations.

Henry Rollins will do spoken word at the Music Farm Friday night. The show is part of his 'Frequent Flyer Tour.'
This Charleston appearance, part of Rollins' latest spoken-word tour, will be more of what many have come to expect.
Rollins recently talked about politics, his latest travels and what keeps him going through an almost endless list of projects.
Q: For those who haven't been keeping up with your performances, what have you been talking about lately?
A: I have been talking about all the travel I have been doing, things happening in the world and in America. South Carolina has had some interesting political action in the last several months. Y'all are funny!
Q: What is your take on (former Alaska Gov.) Sarah Palin's latest activities?
A: They speak for themselves. Her speech at that tea party convention really tells you all you need to know about her intellectual intensity. Her cutting and running on the state of Alaska told me all I need to know about her character. She has her fans, long may they and the good Ms. Palin wave.
Q: How do you feel about the state of America, and the world, as it currently stands?
A: America will sink or swim on how it cares for its own. It will take more than tax cuts to fix things. If Americans want to do the work to advance America, great. If a few just want to advance themselves, you will have problems.
Interesting that so many getting hammered by health care concerns and employment issues are defending the ones who are doing the damage. Have at it!
Q: Of the places you haven't been, where do you want to go most?
A: I want to go to Palestine.
Q: During your travels you have seen amazing things. What is something you have seen that has left you permanently changed?
A: Starvation in the world, lack of water, high levels of constant poverty.
Q: What projects are in the works?
A: I am working on a couple of book projects while out on the road doing all these shows.
Q: Your varied projects keep you busy; what keeps you motivated?
A: I am angry and curious. Life is short, do things.
