Today
• The 2nd annual Auto Show hosted by the Charleston Air Force Base Hobby Shop will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the air base. Participation is open to military and civilian personnel, both on and off base. Presentation of awards is at 3 p.m. There will be winners in nine categories as well as a “Best In Show” trophy. The categories are Open Car 1900-62, 1963-71, 1972-89 and 1990-2010; trucks; Corvettes; Mustangs; motorcycles; and street rods. Sponsors are Hendrick Honda, Hendrick Chevrolet and Jones Ford. To get to the car show, enter the Aviation Avenue gate and take the first right on Range Road. The show will be in conjunction with the base picnic. • Lowcountry Muscle Car will meet at McElveen in Summerville at 4 p.m. for a car cruise to an open house at HHP Carolina. For more information, contact gmccullough@sc.rr.com.

• The 2nd annual Southeastern Classic Autofair and Swap Meet LLC will be held at Florence Fair Grounds, 5226 E. Palmetto St. in Florence. Events include car show, car corral and swap meet. General admission is $5, children under 12 years old get in free. Gates are open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. daily. All makes and models are welcome. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Shriners Children’s Hospital. • A Cars & Coffee brunch cruise-in will be held 10 a.m.-noon at Iacofano's, located in Moultrie Plaza on Coleman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant. There are no rules, judges or trophies. Wednesday
• Duke’s Barbecue and Bill Bennett Classic Cars will host the Top 10 Open Car Show 6-8:30 p.m. It will be at Duke’s restaurant, 949 Robertson Boulevard in Walterboro. Registration is $5. Any year model is welcome. There will be top 10 awards by years and a Best in Show presented by Blocker Boys. Proceeds go to the V.A. Victory House. • Cruisin’ the Georgetown Boardwalk, hosed by Winyah Cruisers, will take place 6-9 p.m. on Front Street in Georgetown. Display your car and stroll the boardwalk. The event is free.
June 19
• The town of Olar’s 3rd annual Car & Bike Show will be held at the intersection of S.C. Highway 64 and U.S. Highway 321 in Olar. Registration, which is $20, is 8:30 a.m.-noon. Cars, trucks, motorcycles and tractors are welcome. A children’s class ages 1-13 will be held; the fee is $5 -- bring whatever they have. • The 2010 Southern Mustang and Ford/Hooters Summer Scorcher Series will be held 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Hooters of North Charleston, next to Northwoods Mall. Registration is $10. Classes are Mustang years 1964-78, 1979-93, 1994-2004 and 2005-10; Ford Motor Company (all Ford-Lincoln-Mercury except Mustangs, trucks and SUVs); General Motors (all GMC-Chevrolet-Pontiac-Saturn-Cadillac etc. except trucks and SUVs; Chrysler (all Chrysler-Dodge-Plymouth etc. except trucks, SUVs and Jeeps); Corvette; truck, which includes pickup, SUV, Jeep, Hummer etc.; and import. Contributions go to juvenile diabetes and Susan G. Komen breast cancer research, The events are the third Saturday of the month.
June 23
• Charleston-Lowcountry Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America will host its monthly car show 6-8:30 p.m. at Joe Bessingers Bar B Que on College Park Road in Summerville. Registration is $5. Classes include years 1900-42, 1943-59, 1960-72 and 1973-present; Corvettes; imports; low rider/tuners; motorcycles; Mustangs; street rods; and trucks. June 26

June 26-27
• The South Carolina and Central Carolinas regions of the Sports Car Club of America will be having their third annual “Black Lake Shootout” races at the Michelin Proving Grounds in Laurens. The event is an inter-region competition as well as a points event for each region.
July 7
• Bessinger’s Bar-B-Q will host an Open Car, Truck & Motorcycle show 6-9 p.m. at the restaurant at 1602 Savannah Highway. Registration is $5. Classes are street rods, trucks, motorcycles, and cars for years 1900-42, 1943-59, 1960-71 and 1972-2010. Three trophies per class will be awarded. The Cruise-O-Matics will perform. Aug. 28
• Coastal Carolina Corvette Club will present its first “Summer Cool Down” Indoor Car Show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Omar Shrine Temple, 176 Patriots Point Road in Mount Pleasant. This is a pre-registration show only and is limited to the first 80 vehicles. Registration, which is $20, must be received by Aug. 11. There will be 30 trophies awarded by class size and a Sponsor’s Choice Best in Show Trophy. Classes are Corvettes; sport compacts; Mustangs; street rods; trucks; and years 1900-62, 1963-71, 1972-89, 1990-2005 and 2006-present.
