Police say woman made up story about man grabbing her and robbing business

North Charleston police say a receptionist who reported that a man robbed a business this morning and jumped the counter and grabbed her by the neck fabricated the story.

Police say no strong-arm robbery took place at the Charleston Neck and Back Center at 2102 Otranto Road, according to Spencer Pryor, public information officer.

The woman had told police the suspect grabbed her by the neck and took money before running away, Pryor said.

The victim turned suspect, Ashley Greene, 27, is charged with falsely reporting a robbery. She will face a bond judge this evening.
