North Charleston team posts win in Pre-Majors

North Charleston stayed alive in the Dixie Pre-Majors state baseball tournament with a 11-0 victory over Spartanburg on Monday at Collins Park.

At 4:30 p.m. today, North Charleston faces Midlands in a losers' bracket matchup.

Track and field

Three current members of the Clemson men's and women's track teams will compete at this week's IAAF World Junior Championships in Moncton, New Brunswick, in Canada.

Stormy Kendrick will represent Team USA in the women's 200-meter dash and in the 4x100 relay.

Warren Fraser will compete in the 100 meters and 4x100 for the Bahamas, while Claudio Delli Carpini will represent Italy in the 110 hurdles.

Kendrick qualified for the U.S. team by virtue of her second-place finish in the 200m dash at last month's USA Junior Championships in Iowa.

Fraser will compete in the 100m dash as an individual. His top time as a freshman in 2010 was 10.48 at the ACC Championships.

Delli Carpini is entered in the high hurdles for Italy's team. He had a top time of 14.07 at the ACC Championships during the 2010 outdoor season.
