What: Canine Communication 201 Intermediate.
Who: Charleston Animal Society.
When: 7:30-8:30 p.m. Thursdays for six weeks starting July 29.
Where: Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road.
Details: The class is $99 ($15 discount for CAS adopters). Designed for dogs with previous obedience class experience. On the last day of class, students will have the opportunity to take the 10-step test to receive Canine Good Citizen certification. Bring a copy of vaccination records to the class.

What: Feisty Fido.
Who: Charleston Animal Society.
When: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursdays for six weeks starting July 29.
Where: Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road.
Details: The class is $149 ($126 for Charleston Animal Society adopters). It is designed for dogs that become excited, frightened or aggressive and display barking and lunging behaviors at other dogs on leash. Dogs that are aggressive toward people will not be permitted in class.

What: Pet Therapy Prep Class.
When: 3:30-4:30 p.m. Wednesdays for six weeks starting Aug. 4.
Where: Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road.
Details: The class is $99 ($84 for Charleston Animal Society adopters). You will learn the purpose of therapy dogs and what they do and practice control and greeting exercises that are helpful in making visits successful and enjoyable. Bring a copy of vaccination records to the class.

What: Lowcountry Paws and Claws Pet Expo.
When: 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 18.
Where: Exchange Park Fairgrounds.
Details: Bring your furry or feathered friend to the second annual Lowcountry Paws & Claws Pet Expo, a free event sponsored by The Post and Courier, that includes fun and educational demonstrations, presentations and more.

What: Adopt-A-Thon.
Who: Charleston Animal Society.
When: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. first and third Saturday of every month.
Where: PetSmart in the Belle Hall Shopping Center, Long Point Road, Mount Pleasant.
