Fire Honor Guard gets recognition

The West Ashley Optimist Club recently presented the Respect for Law Appreciation Award to the Honor Guard of the Charleston Fire Department.

The Honor Guard represents the entire department throughout the county for funerals, memorials and special events.

Current Honor Guard members are J. Lance Williams, Frank Marker, John Winn Jr., Raymond Hamilton, Rob Fulmer, T.J. Axson, Kim Drayton, Pete Salvo, William Johnson, William Kilcoyne, David Hurst and Ben Waring.

Assistant Chief Spencer Suggs, Chief Tom Carr and Battalion Chief Frank Marker attended.

Marker received the award from West Ashley Club President Bob Sojourner.
