Anastopoulo silences Senate talk

Charleston School of Law professor Constance Anastopoulo said she would not make an independent challenge against Republican incumbent Sen. Jim DeMint this fall.
Anastopoulo made her announcement just days after another Charleston woman, philanthropist and businesswoman Linda Ketner bowed out.
“While I am flattered by all of the phone calls and e-mails, I am fully committed to my work and my students at the Charleston School of Law,” Anastopoulo said in a statement Wednesday.
Both had encouraged to run after Democrats learned that their nominee Alvin Greene, an unemployed Manning resident who has done little to no campaigning, currently faces a pornography charge.
