Computers

About 233,000 notebook computers, manufactured in China and the United States by Sony Electronics Inc. of San Diego, Calif., because they can overheat and pose a risk of burns. The company has received 30 reports or overheated computers, but no reports of injuries. The recalled products are VPCF11 Series and VPCCW2 Series notebook computers. They have "VAIO" printed on the front outside panel. The notebooks were sold by Best Buy, Costco, Frys, Amazon.com and Sony Style, as well as other electronics retailers and business suppliers around the country after January 2010. Cat food

Feline's Pride is recalling one lot of Feline's Pride raw food with ground bone and chicken formula for cats and kittens because it may be infected with salmonella. The recall affects products ordered and shipped from June 10-17. People handling raw pet food can become infected with salmonella, especially if they haven't thoroughly washed their hands. The recalled cat food was purchased online, packaged in uncoded plastic containers and sold frozen to consumers nationwide. For more information, consumers can call 716-580-3096.

Power adapters

About 20,000 power adapters for heated pet beds, manufactured in China and imported by Radio Systems Corp. of Knoxville, Tenn., because they can pose a fire and burn hazard under certain circumstances. The company has received three reports of incidents involving these adapters, but no reports of fires or injuries. They were sold online, in catalogs and at pet specialty stores nationwide between September 2006 and April 2010. Details: by phone at 800-732-2677; by web at www.petsafe.net.

Sweatshirts

About 24,000 children's hooded sweatshirts with drawstrings, made in China and imported by Junk Food Clothing Co., of Los Angeles, because the drawstring at the neck can pose a strangulation hazard to children. The recall includes all children's pullover and zippered hooded sweatshirts with drawstrings sold under the "Junk Food" brand name. They were sold at department stores and retail outlets nationwide between June 2006 and August 2009. Details: by phone at 877-458-5865.

Snowboard bindings

About 2,900 2010 United snowboard boot bindings, manufactured in China by Rome Snowboards Co. of Waterbury, Vt., because the base plate can break at cold temperatures. And additional 220 are recalled in Canada. The company has received 14 reports of broken base plates. The bindings were sold by snow sports retailers between September 2009 and December 2009. Chair sets

About 380 All-Star Basketball Chair and Ottoman Sets, made in China and imported by Colleen Karis Designs LLC of Los Angeles, because surface paints on the chairs' lettering could contain excessive levels of lead, which is a violation of the federal lead paint standard. HomeGoods stores nationwide sold the products from February 2009 through April. Details: by phone at 866-278-7938.

Amplifier cases

About 4,200 amplifier carrying cases are being recalled because the clasp on the shoulder strap is defective, possibly allowing the amplifier to fall and posing a risk of injury to consumers. There have been two reports of the clasps failing. No injuries have been reported. The recall includes nylon carrying cases sold with Night Train guitar amplifiers. The carrying cases, made in Vietnam and imported by VOX Amplification, of Melville, N.Y., were sold at music instrument stores nationwide and online from April 2009 to April 2010. Beds

About 2,000 "Pirates of the Caribbean" twin trundle beds, made in China and a distributed by Bayside Furnishings, a division of Whalen, of San Diego, Calif., because the headboard's storage bin poses an entrapment hazard to young children. The "Pirates of the Caribbean" trademark is embossed on a metal plate in the headboard. The beds were sold at Costco stores nationwide from January 2006 through January 2010. Toys

About 5,500 Beado handheld bead-play toys, manufactured in China and imported by Rhino Toys Inc. of Santa Cruz, Calif., because the beads can come off and pose a choking risk.
