What: Downs Byrd Memorial Oyster Roast and Silent Auction.
Who: Frances R. Willis SPCA.

Where: George Miler Country Club, Summerville.
Details: The event will feature oysters and a cash bar. Pizza will be available for those who don't eat oysters. Tickets are $25 and are available at SPCA, 136 Four Paws Lane; Westbury Veterinary Clinic, 1497 W. 5th North St.; and Patterson Printing, 402 Old Trolley Road.

Details: Pet Helpers is starting a Junior Volunteer program for ages 6-11.

What: Pet Helpers Tom Cat Blitz.

Where: Pet Helpers Spay and Neuter Clinic, 1447 Folly Road.
Details: Male cat neuter-a-thon. Appointments are required. The cost is $15 per cat. Two vaccines are required: cat owners need to show proof of current rabies and FVRCP (Distemper combo) vaccinations or they may get the vaccines on the day of the surgery for $5 per shot. Microchips are also available for $10.

Where: James Island County Park.
Details: A human and canine health fair featuring health screenings for dogs and owners, photo sessions and more. Entry to the park is $1.
