Veeck has her sights on an interesting mix of tunes
For this thrilling episode of "Here Listen To This," we were able to track down Rebecca Veeck, of In Vision. She agreed to give her take on some tunes over a slice of pizza and a tasty beverage if we gave a big up to her old friends from Wando and her new friends at Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind.
Veeck has retinitis-pigmentosa, a rare eye disorder that causes retinal degeneration. For more information about RP, visit www.muschealth.com/eye. For the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind, visit http://www.fsdb.k12.fl.us. Now let's hand the reins over to Miss V!
Beatles, "Eight Days A Week"
(Chuckles) This song reminds me of guys … dating and all that kind of stuff. Beatles always make me smile.

Ray Charles, "Hit The Road Jack"
My dad and I've sang this together but, we did it like it was a rap song. The group I'm in, In Vision, sang this once. I always think of the young kid that sang the Ray Charles part. He had the best voice.

Dragonforce, "Soldiers Of The Wasteland"
Lotsa guitar and the drums are pretty cool. Whoever this is … it's kind of pretty. I think I'm gonna try some of this pizza. (Bites into the slice and grimaces) Ew, I think anchovies are in this. Ew.

Hank Williams, "Jambalya"
Dad and mom took me to an Off-Broadway show about Hank Williams. I've sang this in the choir before … do you have "Hey Good Lookin'?" That's a good song too. You have any Elvis on your iPod?

Elvis, "Heartbreak Hotel"
Oh I love this one! When I was about five years old I would get up in the morning to watch my cartoons. One time I was flipping through the channels looking for something to watch and then I stopped it on this channel that was showing Elvis. I remember just dancing in the middle of the room a lot and then my parents walking in on me and looking at me like 'what's going on here?' I have a tabby cat named Elvis and another tabby named Dylan … that one's named after Bob.

Rolling Stones, "Paint It Black"
Vanessa Carlton covered this song. You know when you've had a bad day and you just want to be alone to just sort it all out? This is the song I listen to. I listen to this song when I get frustrated by my eye problem. I've grown pretty used to things around here. I can get around well but reading isn't easy. It was a big problem initially but nowadays I feel more blessed. TO SEE IT ONLINE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STWSTgfMruc or use the keywords : "Rolling," "Stones" and "Paint."
Tom Petty, "American Girl"
Doesn't he have a great voice? I've always wanted to go to one of his concerts. This is gonna be one of my songs when I get married! It's great because it reminds me of being a little kid and plus I'm American so, you know.
