KB Home hosts home-buying event, CHBA holds meeting
Builder to hold home purchase seminar
If you are purchasing a home for the first time, join the crowd.
“About half of all homebuyers today are first-time buyers, many of whom are wondering if homeownership is right for them and if now is the right time to buy, as well as just having questions about the home-buying process,” says David Berman, executive vice president of KB Home’s South Carolina division.
The national builder is hosting a “How to Buy a Home” program today at noon at the KB Home Studio at 7620 Rivers Ave. in North Charleston.

KB Home opened a design studio in North Charleston a few years ago. The center will host a homebuying seminar today.
The event includes lunch, and participants receive a gift for attending. There also will be activities for children.
According to KB Home, local experts will provide information on renting versus owning and how to budget to buy a home, qualify for the federal first-time homebuyer tax credit and evaluate home choices in the market including new, resale and bank-owned properties.
“The events are designed to provide homebuyers with useful information in a relaxed, no-pressure environment,” Berman says.
