Molony powers Bishop England
The score after one quarter of Tuesday night's Bishop England vs. Burke girls basketball game was Mallory Molony 15, Alexis Jones 12.
Molony, Bishop England's all-state selection, hit five 3-point shots in the first quarter to help the Bishops take an 18-12 lead in the Region 6-AA opener for both teams, a 54-48 Bishops victory.
Molony finished with 23 points and 12 rebounds as Bishop England improved to 9-3, including 1-0 in the region.

Burke visits Bishop England in girls basketball action Tuesday night.
"It looked like it was going to be a shootout, but Mallory didn't even score in the second quarter," Bishop England coach Paul Runey said. "Jones picked up her second foul in the second quarter and went to the bench, but they were able to outscore us 17-10. We thought we could outrun them, but they turned the tables on us.
"We didn't shoot well tonight," Runey said. "It wasn't because played Burke played super defense. We just couldn't hit our shots."
Jones finished with 18 points, but no other Bulldog could score in double figures.
Amber Corbett tallied 13 points for the Bishops.
