Shaggy appeared on Gail Eppinette’s deck at a time when
she needed him in her life.
A buff-colored cocker spaniel appeared on my deck on a Tuesday morning, Feb. 12, 2002.
When my son saw him, he thought he was real nasty and asked me what to do. I was busy, so I said to run the dog away. During this time, my mother was dying, and I did not have time for a dog. After my mother's funeral, I needed the dog to help me get over her death. This little stray cocker spaniel came to me as a blessing from God.
He was sick and needed me as much as I needed him. My son named him Shaggy because he looked so bad.
After I decided to keep him, I had him cut and cleaned up. He is a beautiful cocker spaniel. My groomer thinks he is purebred. He is gentle, sweet, easygoing and loving. Of course, he shows complete love for me in those big brown cocker spaniel eyes.
God brought me a little angel that morning, and I thank him every day.
