Driver killed in accident

HUGER -- The driver of a pickup truck was killed early Saturday when his truck ran off the road and overturned, authorities said.

Henry Wright Jr., 54, of Huger was pronounced dead at the scene, Berkeley County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Salisbury said. Salisbury said the truck was headed south on United Drive, near Fortner Lane, about 12:45 a.m. when it ran off the left side of the road, hit a power pole and overturned.

Wright was pinned in the vehicle and was pulled out by the Berkeley County Rescue Squad. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death was body trauma, Salisbury said. Wright was not wearing a seat belt, said Salisbury, who ruled the death accidental.
