Visiting the Ice House in Summerville with Robin Davies
The Crystal Ice House (better known as just the 'Ice House') is a mainstay in Summerville, and it's easy to see why once you walk into the place.
There is so much to choose from that liquor bottles hang from the CEILING.
You can order a favorite beer or well drink, or you can let bartender Robin Davies talk you into something a bit more exotic, such as the homemade fruit infusions.

Q: How long have you worked here?
A: Six years. But this place has been open for over 30 years, since the early '70s.
Q: What do you love about the Ice House clientele?
A: They're the best, really. They're all like my family.
Q: Do you serve food here?
A: No. We have some snacks, but there's a restaurant downstairs, Breck's Steak House, so we don't cook food here. But we do serve free hot dogs on Saturdays and Sundays. People love those.
Q: What beer is a popular choice?
A: I work during the day, so I'd say either Miller Lite or Bud Lite.
Q: What shot do you enjoy serving people?
A: I like layering shots, like an Irish Car Bomb with Bailey's and Jameson. I also like making Sex With an Alligator. It's Jagermeister, Midori, Raspberry Schnapps and sour mix.
Q: What is a drink exclusive to the Ice House?
A: We make our own infused vodkas and rums with fruit. We have Bacardi 151 with cherry juice, for example. We also infuse vodka with lemon, coffee, bubble gum and other things. It's all done in house.
Q: What are your happy hour deals?
A: We have liquor for $2 and Jager shots for $3. Happy hour lasts from noon until 8 p.m. here!
Q: What's the grossest thing you've ever been asked to serve?
A: I was once asked to dump everything that was on the spilling mat into a drink.
Q: What do you think of Summerville's nightlife?
A: When I can participate in it, it's great! But I work, go to school and have small children.
Q: What's your personal favorite cocktail?
A: Raspberry rum with Coke. That's what I always order.
