Culture of Beef: The Ocean Room at The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort announces a monthly "Culture of Beef" menu item celebrating beef dishes from around the world and a complementary wine selection. Spain is the first featured country. Succeeding months will highlight dishes from Mexico, Japan, Argentina, Italy and France.
Book signings: Author Holly Herrick will appear at signings for her new book, "Charleston Chef's Table: Extraordinary Recipes From the Heart of the Old South" from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at The RSVP Shoppe, 141 Broad St.; noon-3 p.m. Sunday at 39 Rue de Jean, 39 John St.; 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at J. Paul'z, 1739 Maybank Highway, Suite V; 4-6 p.m. Feb. 12 at Harris Teeter, 975 Savannah Highway, West Ashley; and 5:30 p.m. Feb. 19 at the Wine Shop, 3 Lockwood Drive.
Book signing: Event designer Tara Guerard will sign copies of her new book, "Weddings by Tara Guerard," at 2 p.m. Feb. 6 at Vieuxtemps, 180 King St., and 1 p.m. March 6 at the Charleston Wine + Food Festival, Marion Square. Through 12 dream weddings, Guerard shares the tools and tricks of the trade from more than a decade in the industry.
TEA workshops: Learn about the art of tea in a series of workshops at Fuschia Tea Emporium, 113 Church St. Workshops will be 9:30-11:30 a.m. Feb. 16 and March 23. A PROPER TEA: Danielle Girard of Orient Express/Charleston Place will demonstrate "How to Serve a Proper Tea," including distinctive tea selections, proper brewing, table service and pairings.
