Jim Holland has joined Mount Pleasant-based Southcoast Community Bank as senior vice president for retail administration. He has 27 years of banking industry experience, including 18 years in the Charleston market. Previously, he was with Regions Bank. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and a master's degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.
Construction
John Owens has joined Renaissance South Construction Co. as lead carpenter and project manager. He has more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry. He has an associate's degree from Southwestern Community College in North Carolina.
Consulting
Jack Hoey has joined Charleston-based Knowledge Capital Group LLC as director of business consulting. Previously, he was owner of Coastal Glass Distributors in North Charleston for 15 years. Before that, he was with Rockwell International for 12 years working in various finance and operations management roles.
Health care
Drs. Mark Alanis, Robbie Conatser and Gretchen Reinhart have joined the Medical University of South Carolina's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Alanis has a medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He will practice as a maternal-fetal medicine physician at MUSC's Prenatal Wellness Center in dowtown Charleston.
Conatser has a bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina and a medical degree from MUSC, where he also completed a residency. He will practice as an obstetrician-gynecologist at MUSC's Specialty Care West Ashley: Women's Health.
Reinhart has a bach- elor's degree from Carnegie Mellon University and a medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She completed a residency at MUSC and practices as an obstetrician-gynecologist at MUSC Specialty Care West Ashley: Women's Health.
Mortgage
Alan Greer has joined SunTrust Mortgage as mortgage producing sales manager for the North Charleston and Summerville markets. He has more than 10 years of mortgage industry experience. Previously, he was with Bank of America Mortgage.
Nonprofit
Ashley Keyes has joined Trident United Way as community volunteer program assistant and speaker and tours coordinator. Previously, she was with The Citadel's Athletic Department, where she worked in media relations. She has a bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina.
Technology
Ashley Trott, Tyler Jenkins and Alison Kellermann have joined Benefitfocus. Trott is technical account manager, Jenkins is account consultant and Kellermann is executive assistant. Rebecca Brodka, Chris Hoffman and Samantha Wise have also joined the Daniel Island-based software company. Brodka is data analyst, Hoffman is senior software engineer and Wise is travel coordinator.
Telecom
Chris Oberg has joined tw telecom inc. as vice president and general manager of the company's South Carolina market, including Charleston. Previously, he was in product marketing, advertising, operations and sales with AT&T and BellSouth.
