Charleston-based eLifespaces received four integrator awards in the 2010 Mark of Excellence Awards from the Consumer Electronics Association's TechHome Division for Home of the Year Project, Integrated Security Project of the Year, Lighting Control Project of the Year and Luxury Home of the Year.
Four firms have received Engineering Excellence awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies' South Carolina chapter. DWG Inc. Consulting Engineers for Three West Rehab renovation at Roper Hospital; Davis & Floyd, Inc. for North Charleston Sewer District; GEL Engineering LLC for Patriots Point Development Authority; and Hussey Gay Bell & DeYoung for Charleston Water System.
Coastal Kids Dental has opened its third office, located at 899 Island Park Drive on Daniel Island. Dr Isabel Driggers is the owner.
The state Housing Finance and Development Authority recognized the Town of Mount Pleasant and the Cottages at Longborough in Charleston at its 2009 S.C. Housing Achievement Awards. Mount Pleasant was recognized in the Organization Sector for its creation of a Workforce Housing Advisory Committee. The Cottages at Longborough project was recognized in the Housing Development category for creating 42 affordable housing units under an agreement between the city and the developer, The Beach Co.
