Man dies after 2-car wreck
An Awendaw man has died after a two-car wreck on U.S. Highway 17.
James Blair of Awendaw, 76, died at Medical University Hospital shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday. The 10:20 a.m. wreck occurred near Sewee Preserve Road, Charleston County Deputy Coroner Dottie Lindsay said. The Highway Patrol on Sunday was not able to provide more information on the accident.
Other Labor Day weekend fatal wrecks listed on the Highway Patrol's Web site involved a 32-year-old Rembert man at 4 p.m. Saturday on Egypt Road in Lee County, a 25-year-old Richburg man at 2:31 a.m. Sunday on U.S. Highway 21 in Chester County and a 22-year-old Greenville man at 3:39 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 385 in Greenville County. None of the three was wearing a seat belt.
