Accounting

Rebekah Manci has joined GlaserDuncan Certified Public Accountants in Mount Pleasant as tax manager. She has a bachelors degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky.

Advertising

Gayle J. Smith has been named advertising director of The Post and Courier effective Sept. 28. She will oversee The Post and Courier's retail and classified advertising departments for print and online sales. She has more than 35 years of advertising industry experience. She currently is director of sales and marketing for The Wilson Times in Wilson, N.C. Previously she was director of advertising for the Asheville Citizen Times in Asheville, N.C., and she worked in various sales, marketing and managerial positions for The Charlotte Observer for almost 15 years. She has a bachelor's degree from Queens College.

Chiropractic

Dr. Joseph W. Barlett has joined the Woodruff Wellness Center in West Ashley as a chiropractor. He has practiced for nearly 10 years in the Charleston area.

Communications

Chris Allen has joined Jim Dyke & Associates as managing director in the firm's Charleston office. He will focus corporate and political communications, campaign strategies and crisis management. Previously, he was associate to the chairman and chief executive officer at Greystar Real Estate Partners, a national real estate investment firm based in Charleston. Prior to joining Greystar, he was South Carolina political director for Sen. John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign.

Electrical

Keith Clifford has been promoted to division manager in the Charleston division of Watson Electrical Construction Co. LLC. Previously, he was project manager in the company's Burlington, N.C., office. He has been with the Wilson, N.C.-based company for more than 21 years.

Job training

Cassandra B. Jamison has been named Trident One Stop Career System director. She will oversee the daily operations and programs offered by the Trident One Stop Career Centers at several sites throughout Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties. She has almost 30 years of education program experience, largely working in the Orangeburg Consolidated School District #3 in Holly Hill. She has worked as a social service specialist, case manager and job training instructor. She has bachelor's degree in sociology from Benedict College.

Law

Timothy N. "Tim" Dangerfield, a former chief of staff at the state Department of Commerce and owner of TD Consultants, has affiliated with Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd as strategic business adviser. He will work with the firm's business attorneys on expanding their clients' companies and businesses as well as assisting new industry with relocation. He is a former city councilman for The Isle of Palms and serves on the S.C. Transportation Infrastructure Bank board. He is a former executive vice president of Energy Solutions LLC, and a former chief operating officer of convenience store owner R&H Maxxon Inc. He has a bachelor's degree in business administration from the College of Charleston.

Medical

Dr. Jennifer L. Young has joined the Medical University of South Carolina's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has a medical degree from MUSC's College of Medicine and she completed her residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital and a fellowship in gynecologic oncology from the University of Virginia. She is based at the MUSC Women's Pavilion in the Hollings Cancer Center.

Cynthia Williams has joined Health Sciences South Carolina as project manager for the electronic Institutional Review Board. Previously, she was director of global technology management at General Motors Corp. She has a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Kettering University and a master's degree in business administration from Cornell University.

Technology

Jackie Stump and Patrick Albert have joined Benefitfocus. Stump is director of employer sales. Albert is solutions engineer.

Real estate

Hilary Rieck has joined Elaine Brabham & Associates as a sales agent. She has a bachelor's degree in business administration from the College of Charleston. Previously, she worked in advertising sales for more than seven years.

Carly Sheen, Dennis English and Laura Rajabi have joined the West Ashley office of Keller Williams as sales agents. Sheen formerly was an interior designer. English is former chairman of Ringler Associates. Rajabi formerly was with Manaker and Associates.

Maggie Curtis and Bob Curtis have joined Coldwell Banker United Realtors as agents in the firm's Mount Pleasant office. Previously, they were with Century 21 Properties Plus. She has been in real estate over 18 years. He has been a Realtor for four years. Their assistant, Candace Brace, also has joined Coldwell Banker United Realtors.
