From Elvis to lingerie, Charleston has it all for Halloween
Trick or treat? The way Charleston is unmasking Halloween this year, we'll take a little of both, please! This season's dastardly delights and freaky festivities are sure to please during the only time when being booed is a good thing. From a little old-fashioned debauchery to haunted hot spots that will give you goose bumps, you know the Lowcountry does it best. Get your scream on at any of these major parties around town, all happening Saturday.
The Dark Arts Ball
Eye Level Art, 2143 Heriot St.
10 p.m.-1:30 a.m.
After-party: 1:30-4 a.m.
Cut up the night at ELA's night of artistic mischief. Art will be by Max Miller, Julio Cotto, Bennett Goodman, Sarah Haynes and LaBanna Bly; the music by DJ CMNDR and Stella by Starlight; and the burlesque performance by the Red Hot Rebelettes. An open bar will include specialty drinks, beer and wine (select beer from Palmetto Brewery). Street Foods will have free treats on hand 10 p.m.-midnight and more available for purchase afterward. Creative costumes are encouraged for the revelry, benefitting the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Trident Area.
Valet service by Fountain Valet, $5 for each car, will be mandatory to park in ELA's parking lot. Limited parking is free outside the parking lot. Taxi service is recommended. Tickets are $40 in advance for general admission and $35 for students and artists, and $50 for all at the door. Those just coming for the after-party will pay a nominal charge. Tickets can be found at ELA's 103 Spring St. location, Wild Flour Bakery (73 Spring St.) or Circa Lighting (426 King St.).
17th Annual Wicked Little Halloween Party
Vickery's Bar & Grill, 15 Beaufain St.
7:30 p.m.-2 a.m.
By now a Charleston tradition, Vickery's is getting decked out for a party to die for. The costume party at 10 p.m. will be judged by well-known locals. First place bags $1,000; second place, $500; and third, $250. DJ Moo Moo will howl at the moon starting at 9 p.m., and Electric Company will take over at 11 p.m., creating a dance party fusing remixing, acoustic and electronic drumming. $10 to get in for 21 and up and a cash bar inside.
Halloween Lingerie Party
Social Restaurant & Wine Bar, 188 East Bay St.
8 p.m.-2 a.m.
Reveal more than just your inner monster at Social's fright night. The wine bar invites you to, "Be sexy. Be seductive. Be scandalous." DJ Joeski will be spinning at this bash sponsored by Charleston Singles Club, Svedka Vodka and Van Gogh Vodka, which also is launching its new caramel-flavored vodka with the Caramel Appletini.
Tickets are $5 for witches and $10 for werewolves. Prizes throughout the night include chances to win free drinks.
'The Exorcist'

Midnight showing.

Haunted Harborfest

Get slayed at Collaborative Productions' Haunted Harborfest, featuring free giveaways and $500 to the best costume. Oh, and not to mention Chronicles of Land Squid, Dub Island Sound System, Manic Motion, Soothsayer, M.O. Theory and a "very special surprise guest." A cash bar will be open 10 p.m.-2 a.m., and past that, it's BYOB. Tickets are $25 presale and $30 the day of. Get $10 discounted tickets with a concert stub from Pretty Lights at Music Farm. You must be 18 to party and 21 to drink.
2nd Annual Elvis is Alive Party
Voodoo Tiki Bar, 15 Magnolia Road.
Open until 2 a.m.
Dig up the king for Voodoo's rendezvous. No cover. Amy Hutto of the Charleston Buzz will be the emcee for the night, and DJ D-Rock Vinyl will provide the thrillers for this dance party sponsored by Hiram Walker Pumpkin Spice.

Party Like a Movie Star Halloween Bash

10 p.m.-2 a.m.
It's Halloween, Latin style. DJ Luigi will cast some spells to raise the dead with salsa, merengue, bachata, reggaeton and dance music. The fiesta features $200 for best movie star lookalike, $200 for the sexiest costume and $200 for the most original ensemble.
Vampires Ball
TanTra, 1035 Johnnie Dodds Blvd. (Fairmount Center).
10 p.m.-2 a.m.
Once twilight comes and evening falls, TanTra offers all you blood suckers a good reason to leave the coffin: 212 Productions entices you into its pitch-black party of vampires, candles, mayhem and drinks. Add to that $1,000 in prizes that will put money where your teeth are.
