Adopt-A-Teacher at island school
The Daniel Island School seeks sponsors for its Adopt-A-Teacher program, an initiative that pairs individuals, businesses or civic groups with specific classrooms.
Sponsors would help teachers buy supplies and bring in community members who can share their skills with teachers and students.
The program going for two years at the school has led to the adopting of 30 teachers and raised more than $5,200 each year.
