Slow Food benefit planned Thursday

From 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Slow Food Charleston and the Charleston Area Children's Garden Project will host a fundraiser at Sanders-Clyde Elementary School, 220 Nassau St., Charleston.
The local organizations, both of which strive to promote awareness of the benefits of local and sustainable food, are hosting a kid-friendly fundraising event to showcase the progress Sanders-Clyde students have made on their organic garden, which they planted one year ago.
The event is sponsored by Wholly Cow Ice Cream and Island Coffee in Ravenel and will include tasty treats as well as music and food demonstrations.
While the event is free to attend, donations are requested. More at www.slowfoodcharleston.org and www.childrensgardenproject.org.
