Three people died in separate accidents on Lowcountry roads early Friday.

Charleston County sheriff's deputies responded to Orleans Road at Savannah Highway after a car struck a pedestrian about 4:30 a.m.

Garry Felder, 50, of Charleston, was trying to cross the road using a metal walker when he crossed in front of a car driven by a Charleston woman.

Felder died at the scene. No charges are pending against the driver. Neither speed nor alcohol appeared to have caused the accident, a sheriff's official said.

Deputies also responded to a wreck at Ben and Fort Johnson roads about 2:30 a.m.

Jeremy Farah, 22, of James Island, was killed when he lost control of his vehicle while traveling west on Fort Johnson Road, and the car struck two trees.

The S.C. Highway Patrol also is investigating a deadly wreck in Colleton County.

The fatal wreck was the second of two crashes that happened within minutes of each other about 1 a.m. in front of 18798 Augusta Highway.

Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Bob Beres said the driver of a tractor-trailer was backing the rig into a private driveway when a vehicle hit the trailer as it blocked the roadway.

The tractor-trailer driver was helping the driver of that car when, at 1:15 a.m., a pickup truck struck the tractor-trailer, Beres said.

The driver of the pickup was killed. That person's name has not been released.

Two occupants of the pickup, a male and female from Arkansas, were taken to a hospital.
