A school bus wreck shut down parts of U.S. Highway 17A and caused significant delays between Summerville and Moncks Corner this morning.

The wreck happened about 6:30 a.m. in front of Trident Tech.

One child was aboard the bus at the time. Neither the student nor the bus driver were injured, said Pam Bailey, school district spokeswoman.

S.C. Highway Patrol Cpl. Bob Beres said authorities were on-hand to re-route traffic until both lanes were re-opened again about 8 a.m.
