An 18-year-old woman died Sunday in a single-vehicle wreck near Harleyville.

The Dorchester County Coroner's office identified her as Shondra Sequel Carn of the Dorchester community.

She was driving a 2005 Doge Durango west on U.S. Highway 178 about 12:40 a.m. Sunday when she ran off the right side of the road and struck a ditch and then a fire hydrant two miles west of Harleyville, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol, which is investigating.

She was not wearing a seat belt and died from head and chest injuries, according to the coroner's office.
