Holiday Decorating Seminar: Learn to collect and use natural items to create wreaths, ornaments, garlands and more at a free seminar 1 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Middleton Place Garden Market & Nursery. Sharon Bishop, visitor services manager, will offer tips and ideas to put the holiday spirit in your home using fresh pine, holly, berries, grapevine, palm leaves and other easy-to-find items. There is no admission fee to attend the seminar or shop at the Garden Market & Nursery, Middleton Place, 4300 Ashley River Road.

House Tour: Tickets are on sale for the Yemassee Town & Country Holiday Home Tour 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 12. Advance tickets are $25. Day-of tickets will cost $30, while supplies last. Tickets include admission to nine area homes, plantations and churches. The tour stops vary in architectural style, age and size and will offer a variety of local flavor with history dating back to the 1700s. A light lunch will be served at Richfield Plantation for an additional charge of $5 per person. Proceeds from the tour will benefit the Yemassee Revitalization Corp., a nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring and beautifying downtown Yemassee. Purchase tickets by calling 589-4100.
