Workshop set in January for new charter schools
The state Department of Education will conduct a free workshop for individuals or groups interested in applying to open a charter school.
The workshop will be held Jan. 12 at the Career Development Center, 8016 Wilson Blvd., Columbia, from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
Registration for the workshop is limited to 50 participants, so prospective charter school organizers are asked to limit their attendance to no more than two representatives per applicant group.
Agenda topics include the charter school application process and information needed to prepare a quality proposal.
To register or for more information, contact Rebecca Cupstid at rcupstid@ed.sc.gov or 803-734-8266. The registration deadline is Jan. 5.
