Lady: A 3-year-old female retriever/hound mix with a sleek black coat with white speckled feet and chest. Very affectionate, loves to take walks, gets along well with other dogs, doesn't seem to mind cats, and is already house trained. She is a heartworm-positive dog, but Pet Helpers will cover the cost of her heartworm treatment if you agree to foster-to-adopt her.

Precious: A year-old male tabby with a handsome white face. He was removed from his home due to the health of his owner. He is a very friendly feline who gets along with other cats and people. He's used to living in a house and already has good litter habits. He and his mother, CiCi, and brother, Nippy, are hoping for a second chance in new homes.

Velvet: A 3-year-old female terrier mix found by police on Johns Island. She arrived at Pet Helpers in a police cruiser, but she hasn't done anything wrong. She is well-behaved, petite, with a short, smooth coat and perky ears.

Call Pet Helpers at 795-1110. Adoption fees are $125 for cats and dogs younger than 6 months old, $100 for cats and dogs 6 months or older, and $55 for rabbits. Fees include spaying/neutering, shots, heartworm and leukemia check, de-worming, microchip, collar and tag.
