Charlie Heye made only one bogey on his way to a round of 3-under-par 69 Saturday and a two-shot lead in the City Senior Amateur golf tournament being played at Charleston Municipal Golf Course.

John Frye is second after a 1-under-par 71 while Jeryl Johnson is third at even-par 72. The tournament for players 50 and older will wrap up today with the leaders teeing off at 9:52 a.m.

Heye's lone bogey came on the par-3 eighth hole, but he got that back and more on the back nine, recording birdies at the 10th, 14th, 15th and 18th.

In the Super Senior division for players ages 60-69, Nick Avery shot a 4-under-par 68. Avery, who started on the sixth hole under the shotgun start format, birdied that hole but double-bogeyed the seventh, his only miscue of the day. Avery also birdied 8, 10, 15, 16 and eagled the par-5 second.

Ty Cline scored three eagles and took the lead in the Super Super Senior division for players 70 and older, shooting a 68. Cline eagled his first hole, the par-5 seventh, eagled the par-5 10th and then holed out for eagle on the par-4 17th. Cline also had one birdie against three bogeys.
