PETTICOAT JUNCTION -- Silver Bluff cruised into the second round of the Class AA playoffs with a convincing 35-7 victory over Bishop England (4-7) on Friday night.

Big plays were key for the Bulldogs, as they took the lead on a 53-yard touchdown run by Robert Green on their second play of the game and never looked back. A strong defensive performance -- led by Demarcus Lawrence and Hikeem Dixon with six tackles each -- kept the Bishops off the scoreboard until the last minute of the game.

The Bulldogs rushed for more than 300 yards and were led by running back Cordrea Tankersley, who had seven carries for 154 yards and two TDs.

Bishop England was held to only 101 yards in the game by the tough Bulldogs defense. The Bishops were led by Andrew Bunch, who rushed for 49 yards on 15 carries. The Bishops' Thomas Grimsley had a 3-yard TD run.

The Bulldogs host Cheraw next Friday.
