Public meeting set on new terminal
A public meeting will be held Saturday to discuss the revitalization plan for several neighborhoods around the planned new State Ports Authority terminal at the former Navy base in North Charleston.
The Lowcountry Alliance for Model Communities has been studying a revitalization plan for seven neighborhoods in North Charleston's Neck Area. The plan includes the seven LAMC neighborhoods of Liberty Hill, Accabee, Union Heights, Howard Heights, Windsor, Five Mile and Chicora-Cherokee.
The meeting will be at the Military Magnet School from 10 a.m. to noon to discuss the draft concepts and recommendations, and to receive additional feedback from the public. The school is at 2950 Carner Ave.
The meeting will begin with an informal open house for participants to view displays and talk to organizers one-on-one.
