The manager is in custody, but his accomplice is at large, said Maj. John Clark, Charleston County sheriff's spokesman.

The theft took place Oct. 25, according to arrest warrants. The manager of the Circle K at 2407 Ashley River Road had discussed a plan to rob the assistant manager as he was making a bank deposit, the warrants said.

The two suspects showed up at the store and told the assistant manager they would take the deposit to the bank, police reports said. Instead, they kept the $6,600 deposit, officials said.

Dale Michael Boggs II, 38, of Sebastian St., is charged with breach of trust. He is being held in Charleston County jail pending a bond hearing, Clark said. Jesse Andrew Gregory, 26, of Hanahan, remains at large, Clark said. Police have an arrest warrant charging him with grand larceny.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call 202-1700.
