Online race registration
Today is the deadline for online registration for Saturday's James Island connector 10K run and 5K walk.
Race participants can register online at www.jamesislandconnectorrun.com through today. They also can register the day of the race, across from Roper Hospital, starting at 6:45 a.m. The run begins at 8 a.m.; the walk begins at 8:05 a.m.
Registration costs $25 by today, $30 after; walkers pay $20 to register by today, $25 after.
The route begins in front of Roper Hospital, spans the James Island connector, wraps around at Folly Road and ends back at Roper.
The race is sponsored by the Gavalas-Kolanko Foundation, a nonprofit that provides scholarships to college students with disabilities.
It has expanded beyond the College of Charleston, awarding a scholarship to a student at Charleston Southern University this year.
