North Charleston officials today will hold a ground-breaking ceremony for the city's 12th fire station, at the corner of Palmetto Commerce Parkway and Carolina Commerce Parkway.

The new station will support the residential and business growth in the upper Dorchester area, from Ashley Phosphate Road to Ladson Road and over to University Boulevard. The event will begin at 10 a.m. Fire Station 12 is expected to be completed in August.
