A fuel-testing machine caught fire at Cummins MerCruiser Diesel Test Center about 5 p.m. Monday, resulting in the evacuation of 150 to 200 workers from the building at Leeds Park International on Leeds Avenue, officials said.
When firefighters arrived, the sprinkler had been activated and there was smoke coming from the building. The fire was declared under control at 5:40 p.m. The sprinklers held the fire in check until firefighters arrived and extinguished it completely.
