Dry eyes gone in a wink
They are enough to bring tears to your eyes. Intentionally. And literally.
The company that brought us Sarah Palin's designer glasses is offering something new: Wink Glasses.
Masunaga Optical Manufacturing Co. Ltd. is promoting the glasses as the answer to ocular dehydration.
When a computer user can't take his eyes off the screen -- not even long enough to blink -- Wink Glasses are designed to help. A sensor in one lens detects when the eye hasn't blinked in more than five seconds, and the lens fogs up. Blink, and it clears up again.
Masunaga, a Japanese company, does not suggest that Mrs. Palin fits the bill but does suggest that the glasses could benefit bookworms and obsessive video gamers.
And if Wink Glasses don't do the trick, maybe thinking of the cost will.
A $430 pricetag could be enough to make some people cry.
