Health screenings in Summerville

Did you know that, according to the American Diabetes Association, two out of every three individuals with diabetes die from heart disease and stroke?

In an effort to help address the problem, Trident Health System will offer free diabetes and heart disease screenings 8 a.m.-noon Wednesday at Summerville Medical Center.

Screenings will include blood pressure, blood glucose, BMI, height and weight, heart and vascular disease risk assessment, counseling and educational information to help modify risk factors.

A lipid (cholesterol) profile, which costs $20, also will be available by appointment only. All other screenings are free, but registration is required by calling 797-3463.
