This is the final week that three local pet sitters are participating in an annual collection drive benefiting pets in shelters.
The program, part of the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters for the "Presents 4 Pets" campaign, ends at the conclusion of National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week, which runs through Saturday.
Pawsitively Pet Sitting, Home Alone Pet Sitting & Dog Walking Service, Dawg Tired and Cat Naps Too and NAPPS members across the country are collecting toys, treats, blankets, towels, rugs, beds, bleach, leashes, collars, coupons and newspapers.
The Frances R. Willis SPCA in Summerville is having a pet food drive in November.
Dog, cat, kitten and puppy food or cat litter can be dropped off at the Share the Love Thrift Store, 402 Old Trolley Road; Carolina One Real Estate Offices, Trolley Road or Main Street; or the Frances R. Willis SPCA, 136 Four Paws Lane.
For more information, call 871-3820.
In addition, Share the Love Thrift Store will have a garage sale Saturday to benefit the Frances R. Willis SPCA.
