North Charleston police arrested two men Wednesday in a drug bust at Rivers Avenue and Harley Street.

A narcotics team purchased drugs and then seized 322.6 grams of marijuana, 6.3 grams of cocaine base and .9 grams of cocaine from a vehicle, said Spencer Pryor, police public information officer.

Kenneth Quinton Grant, 26, of Huger, and Warren Washington, 32, of Charleston, are charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession with intent to distribute marijuana near a school, Pryor said. Grant also faces charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and cocaine base and possession with intent to distribute those substances near a school.

A Berkeley County warrant also charges Grant with assault and battery with intent to kill, Pryor said.

We should begin the legalized sale of small amounts of marijuana and cocaine per person on Fridays, at least, for purchase at pharmacies or sanctioned locations to really put a dent in the dealer's pocketbooks. Confiscations can be put up for sale on Fridays and the revenue used to help state government. People like to party and do housework on the weekends and this will allow them to be safe when making drug purchases. Undercut the street price with legal sale and drug dealers will quickly be out of business. It is time to get off the drug war merry-go-round and let police round up illegal aliens, burglars, and violent drunks instead.

I absolutely agree Kidyendor! It would definitely take a chunk out of debt and lower a lot of crime activity!
