Wreck with serious injuries disrupts traffic near Awendaw
AWENDAW — An accident with injuries has shut down some lanes of traffic on U.S. Highway 17 near Guerins Bridge Road. A medical helicopter has been dispatched to take the injured to a hospital.
During the 4:35 p.m. crash, two people were ejected from a vehicle, said Maj. John Clark of the Charleston County Sheriff's Office. He said one person has been critically wounded and the another is in serious condition.
