State agency lacks money for immigration hotline

GREENVILLE - A South Carolina agency says it doesn't have the money to start a hotline and database for an immigration crackdown approved last year.

The Greenville News reported Monday that the Commission on Minority Affairs was supposed to operate a hotline to accept complaints about illegal immigrants. The plan also calls for a database to help track immigration information received by state agencies.

Commission executive director Janie Davis says the agency doesn't have the $287,000 needed to start the programs. Davis says she doesn't have the $261,000 to operate the system, either.

State Sen. Larry Martin of Pickens says the hotline and database are considered extras that would be funded if possible. Martin says the hotline might be transferred to another agency.

what difference does it make?they're not going to deport them anyway.the longer that they keep them here the longer they have to make them legal.that's an additional 20-25 million votes they will have from the grateful illegals.save the money for something important like building a jail to keep the corrupt politicians in.oh yeah, that would be $265 trillion that we needed.sorry about that,it was just a thought.

We wouldn't need a hotline if they were all rounded up and deported...

These people we elect and hire to run our government are worthless. They don't care about no law. They do what they think is right and wait for the law to catch up with them.

Get these stinking illegals out of my country NOW!
