Hay rides, barbecue and exhibits of farm equipment from bygone days will spotlight an antique tractor show on Johns Island. The Charleston Antique Tractor and Engine Society is sponsoring the event, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. at Noels Christmas Tree farm at 1215 Brownswood Road. Follow signs to the show. Displays will include antique tractors, engines, trucks, cars and pulling lawn mowers. Coastal Carolina Corvette Club will present the Marathon Chevrolet Open Car, Bike & Truck Show, sponsored by Marathon Chevrolet of Summerville. The show will take place 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Registration, which is $10 a vehicle, will begin at 11 a.m. at Marathon Chevrolet on Main Street in Summerville. Thirty trophies will be awarded by class size, and there will be three Sponsor's Choice trophies. Classes will be Corvettes; motorcycles; sport compacts; Mustangs; street rods; trucks; and years 1900-62, 1963-71, 1972-89, and 1990-present. Proceeds benefit Frances R. Willis SPCA. The Piedmont Transporter Owners is presenting the Charlotte Transporter Show at 601 S. Cedar St. in Charlotte. Gates open at 9 a.m. Free admission for spectators. The cost is $5 to show, which includes a swap if you are in an AC type 2 and $10 if you are not in an air-cooled type 2. Charleston-Lowcountry Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America and Joe Bessingers Bar B Que will host its monthly Open Car Truck & Motorcycle Show 6:30-8:30 p.m. at 1114 College Park Road in Summerville. Registration is $5. Classes are street rods; cars; trucks; motorcycles; imports; Corvettes; Mustangs; lowriders/tuners; and years 1900-42, 1943-59, 1960-72 and 1973-2009. An Open Car, Truck & Motorcycle show will be held 6-9 p.m. at Bessingers BBQ, 1602 Savannah Highway. Registration is $5. There are three trophies per class. Classes include street rods, trucks, motorcycles and cars for years 1900-42, 1943-59, 1960-71 and 1972-2009. Music is by The Cruise-O-Matics. The event is hosted by Bessingers BBQ. Shows are the first Wednesday of the month: July 1, Aug. 5, Sept. 2, Oct. 7 and Nov. 4. For more information, contact Tom Jameson at 571-2264.

The 40th anniversary celebration of the Porsche Club of America's Palmetto region will be held at various locales in the Charleston area, including a social hour and dinner on the hangar deck of the Yorktown at Patriot's Point Maritime Museum in Mount Pleasant. Special guest speaker at the dinner will be Vic Elford, a leaig Porsche race car driver of the 1960s. A "gimmick rally" will be held Saturday afternoon from Mount Pleasant through the Lowcountry. There will be a walking tour Sunday morning through historic Charleston ending with brunch at Fleet Landing restaurant. After brunch, participants will drive to Boone Hall Plantation for a tour. All Porsche owners and past owners are welcome. The Palmetto region is making a concerted effort to reunite members of the past with the present generation. The cost of the event is $52 a person.
