2 council members keep seats

SULLIVAN'S ISLAND — Barrier island residents re-elected two incumbents and added one fresh face to Town Council in Tuesday's election.
In the five-way race for three open seats, Councilman Mike Perkis, 64, was the top vote-getter with 26 percent. The other winners were Councilman Pat O'Neil, 61, with 24 percent, and challenger Madeleine McGee, 48, with 21 percent.
"I am thrilled. It could not have been a more perfect race," McGee said.
McGee, a consultant for nonprofit organizations, edged out incumbent Everett Presson, 61, a real estate agent, by only 57 votes.
O'Neil, who came in second, said he was "pleasantly surprised" by the results and somewhat relieved. He was surprised also that Presson didn't keep his seat.
"I enjoyed serving with him," O'Neil said.
About half of the island's registered voters participated in the election. Candidates will take their seats in June.
The results of the election will be certified Thursday.

Do they know ANYTHING about the POWER of the WIND on their ISLAND....!?!?!
Do they know how to use Google EARTH to find a PLACE for a CELL TOWER...or......WIND TURBINE.....????
DO their fellow residents KNOW that FARMERS get Royalties from Turbines installed on their FARMS...???
Do ANY of these fine citizens know how to look for TAX Generating SOLUTIONS instead of property TAXES or income taxes or some bogus CABLE ....FEE..???
We wonder how many residents are for MORE Foreign COAL power PLANTS in OUR state....??? We are certain that all residents CARE about all of South Carolina instead of just ONE island...!?!
We wonder what residents will think when they are told that their TRASH will be TRUCKED to Parker's Ferry or to Dorchester or Berkeley County instead of being Plasma-fied using Plasma converters to GENERATE Tax Revenue...????

We wonder if some of the resident know that BMW is building DIESEL ENGINES for their cars...??? Do the residents know that ALGAE Bio-Diesel could be produced by South CArolina FARMERS....!?!?!

Hopefully these elected officials will have a fried platter at Sullivan's Restaurant with a fellow resident named MARK SANFORD to discuss ...ENERGY LEADERSHIP !!! If they need help.....by GOD ...ask Mr. SAMMY RHODES !!!! He knows how to generate TAX Revenue...!!!!!

Just a quick look with Google EARTH, it is plainly evident that at least 11 super turbines should be installed to produce GREEN ENERGY...!!! If one turbine can power 13000 homes then what will 11 POWER...!?!?! Hmm....I bet the electric BILLS for those fines homes are ...ENORMOUS..!?!
...lets say 300 a month time how many homes...??? Let's guess...500..??? What about commercial accounts...!?! WOW...!?! ...wonder what POE's and Dunleavey's ...IS..!?!
Lets guess...800..!?!
Let's say the Islands total electric bill per MONTH is 200K..!!!
Well....200k ( that seems ..LOW) but we are just guessing ANYWAY...!! RIGHT...???
...WOW...that's 2.5 Million a YEAR just for being electrified...!?!?!
What's one Turbine ...2 Million....3 Million ....$4 Million....lets say 8 Million dollars
For only 10 Turbines we are looking at 80 Million...or roughly a 10 Year PAY off....Hmm !!!???
I wonder if the residents would perk up if they knew that their Electric Bills would be FREE....after 10 Years...!??! ...and that they would be LEADING the STATE...!?!?! ..and that they would NOT be Burning Foreign Diesel to Rail in their Fuel for their Island's POWER....!?!?!
....Lets say it is 15 YEARS...would they ponder...!!!
...okay ...20 years ?? HMM...!?! Wow ...being retired with NO Electric Bill...!?!?!
Residents of Sullivan's Island.....WAKE UP !!!!!
