Lowcountry High Rollers fundraiser
The Lowcountry High Rollers, Charleston's all-women's flat track roller-derby team, will be hosting a fundraiser along with the Upper Deck Tavern, at 9 p.m. tonight.
The Upper Deck Tavern, at 353 King St. in downtown Charleston, will host a raffle, games and prizes to give away in this "High Stakes" night, with various derby girls throughout the evening to show their luck and love to the Charleston community.
All proceeds raised through this event will benefit the Lowcountry Highrollers, their various charities and other events this season. The theme for the evening is "Viva Las Vegas" and everyone will be dressed to impress.
Merchandise will be available for purchase as well as tickets to upcoming events in July and August. There is a $5 suggested donation at the door.

Giddy Goat Cheese
Join local artist, video documentarian and, most recently, artisan cheesemaker Farrah Hoffmire of Organic Process Productions and Soif from 5:30 to 8 tonight for wine, beer and goat cheese pairings.
The event will take place at 357 N. Shelmore Blvd., I'On, Mount Pleasant.
Hoffmire will have her handmade Giddy Goat Cheese available for tasting and for sale.
Soif and Advantage Distributors will pair five of the cheeses with their wines and artisanal Belgian-style beer for $25.

Center for Photography exhibit
The Charleston Center for Photography will host "The Lost," a photographic exhibit by Gary Geboy. In this new collection, Geboy is introducing a photographic series of abstract settings and subjects. He has been a photographer for more than 30 years, traveling the world. His work includes Peace Corps documentaries in Kyrgyzstan and a National Gallery of Art exhibit on ancient Mexico. His recent work is a view of his own back yard: the Lowcountry.
The exhibit opens from 6-8 p.m. tomorrow and will be showing 9 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays through July 31 at The Charleston Center for Photography, Suite D Charleston, 645 King St. For information, call 720-3105 or go to www.ccforp.com.

Slow Food's "Farm to Plate" picnic
Slow Food Charleston will host a country-style "Farm to Plate Picnic" from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Thackeray Farms at 1364 Harts Bluff Road on Wadmalaw Island. Farm tours will be led by event hosts and local farmers Shawn Thackeray of Thackeray Farms and Rita Bachmann of Rita's Roots. Guests are asked to bring their own picnic dinner, beverages, and blankets or chairs. The Farm to Plate Picnic is a fundraiser for Slow Food Charleston's organic garden project at Sanders-Clyde Elementary School.
Local author and Slow Food Charleston board member Holly Herrick will be on hand to sign and sell her new cookbook, "Southern Farmers Market Cookbook," with a portion of the proceeds from sales benefitting Slow Food Charleston. There also will be an American Pie Auction, featuring homemade pies auctioned off to the highest bidder by local foodie and event planner, Mitchell Crosby of JMC Charleston. Live bluegrass will be provided by Ricky Rio of Legare Farms.

Footlight Players "Sea Marks"
The Footlight Players' "Sea Marks" by Gardner McKay, has plenty of Irish happenings to go along with it. Directed by Ellen Leigh Murray, this production includes Irish theatre, music, art and after parties. The play stars real-life couple Laura Rose (Timothea) and Mark Poremba (Colm).
To promote the show, The Footlight Players and Bocci's Italian Restaurant are offering a dinner/theatre package.
