I hate to say this, but our authorities must be waiting for waiting for someone to get kill. I mean think about all the bank robberies over the past 3 months. I would think that they would somehow beef up security at these banks. This is really insane.

Don't be so hard on the man for not covering his face. He just couldn't afford a mask during these "tough economical times". Thus, his reason for robbing the bank.

There are entirely too many things to make fun of this guy about. Look at the way he's holding the gun - like he's a bad ***. It's funny he didn't think to at the very least wear a hat and sun glasses. The scary thing is the dumb crooks are the most dangerous.

If he would have fired the gun in that position, it could have put an eye out. The casting would have come right at his head. He should get the death penalty for robbing this bank with a gun. After the first few robbers are executed the future robbers will take a long hard look at robbing banks.

It is the banks fault, they should know better than to keep all that money lying around in the vault.

He's probably more dangerous than you might expect. He didn't even bother to conceal his identity. That shows how desperate he is for money.
He probably doesn't spend much time at the range considering how he is holding the weapon. I guess you don't have to be too accurate of you're 5 feet away from someone.

Larz - that's funny because it's true. Of course, he's probably busy burning all the money from the heist at Northwoods Mall right now, so he'll probably be broke by the time the flea market rolls around.

Where are all of you bigots out there who love to say "Same old story" when it's a black person accused of robbery? Let this be a lesson that it isn't about race. It isn't about economics either. We didn't have this much crime during the Great Depression. And BTW did you know that more millionaires came out of that Great Depression than any other period in American history?
This is about a societal breakdown which no longer values life and a bunch of desperate losers who want some attention and significance. And it is also a failure on the part of local government and law enforcement. Mayor Sumney keeps getting fatter and fatter while North Charleston residents have to wonder whether or not they or their business is going to get robbed next. And it is a disgrace that this man is still in office. The people of North Charleston should rise up and demand change and put someone on the ballot to defeat Sumney.
These incidents used to happen in low-income areas known for criminal activities. Now they're happening in upper-income areas like Mount Pleasant. Why? I think part of it is a lax law enforcement and security operation. I'm pro-police, but I wish they would focus more on shoplifting and robberies with the same intensity they pursue speeders. If Hanahan's police spent half as much time patrolling Remount Road and arresting the panhandlers as they do writing tickets, Hanahan would be much better off.

That guy looks absolutely crazy in those new pictures that they posted. I doubt he's smart enough to think about robbing an out of town bank - I wouldn't doubt that he lives in Hibben Ferry or some apartment within walking distance of that bank.

It happened to be a white guy who committed the crime. So you won't get any self-hate from the bigots today.(As opposed to regular hate when the perp is a black guy)
Also, it happened in Mount Pleasant, so most people will look at it as an outlier.(Mt. P? Is anyplace safe?)
At the end of the day, It's really not about the race of the criminal, as much as some of our posters would like it to be. Socioeconomic status is a better indicator for criminal intent is race. The poorer you are, the more likely you are to do things that may or may not be legal to get money, be it bank robbery, larceny, or drug dealing. If you are hot and broke, why not take one more chance?

Where is our modern day Melvin Purvis, or our modern day Wyatt Earp? Start hunting these criminals down like those men did back in their time and we would see a dip in the amount of crimes committed. It won't erase the problems (only the death penalty for every felony would do that) but it will sure have them looking over their shoulders. Finally a Caucasin brother takes one for the team of bandits. Race Police! Race Police! Where are you? I know you're frothing at the mouth to say something in that "do good" form of literacy that you have. Unfortunately he is giving us other pale skinned boys (criminal and non-criminal) a bad rap because at least the african-american boys and girls are smart enough to disguise their identities. He such a dumb%#@. He'll be caught by midnight. Probably sitting in a seaside bar and stashed the gun in the bars dumpster. What a Chet!

As a bank employee, these jokes about this crime and criminal sicken me. You can't possibly understand how this feels to have someone threaten your life with such a menacing look on their face! This leaves the bank employee with feelings of real fear, distrust, anger, doubt and many times they can't continue because the pressure is just too hard to go back to work to possibly face someone who is willing to pull that trigger. I hope that because the pictures of this criminal are so good that he will be recognized no matter where he is from and he is apprehended and taken off the streets and receives a very long sentence.

Hey dwarf, you were the first one to bring up race this time. It wasn't enough that everyone was calling him out for being STOOPID?? I mean, where was his dreadlock wig?
That had to be creepy and scary. You wouldn't know if you were going to be killed or not while it was happening. This guy did look a little rabid. (shudder)

Dori I apologize for anything offensive and understand what the teller is going through. I was held up at a convienience store in '93 at gunpoint and afterward when the police had him cornered he shot the officer in the face and killed him. The law caught him and he was sentenced to 23 to life for the murder and another 15 for the robbery. I remember how I felt that night and afterwards. I won't work in that type of job ever again. The current crime spree around here has to be a top priority with the law enforcement officials and needs to be pursued vigorously before it gets any more out of hand. This is a tourist area and if crime gets to bad (Detroit or DC proportions) then the tourists will find someplace else and then the unemployment rate will skyrocket further in this state. May this guy and all of the other robbers be caught quickly and their trials and sentencing harsh and swift.
