Now, North Charleston is taking the same theme, giving it its own twist and doing it on a weekday.
The North Charleston Farmers Market began in mid-April and will continue 1-6 p.m. every Thursday thru October 1. Located in Park Circle at the Felix C. Davis Community Center, the farmers market features fresh, locally grown produce, as well as herbs, jellies, jams and other delicacies every week.
Special events include cooking demonstrations, nutrition classes and free health screenings.
A family affair, the farmers market has a playground to keep the kids entertained, as well as special activities and events designed specifically for children, such as face painting, pony rides and a jump castle.
Inspired by the community spirit that defines Park Circle, the farmers market features a variety of informative and educational booths where one can register for youth or adult recreational activities, or even learn about crime prevention and upcoming neighborhood events.
Of course, no self-respecting farmers market could exist without offering delicious food, and what these North Charleston vendors have on offer is perfect for those looking for lunch or dinner, whether to carry home or to enjoy outdoors while sitting at shaded picnic tables.
