SC tech school pupils get more student activities

COLUMBIA - Students at a South Carolina technical college will soon have more options for student activities.

Officials with Benedict College and Midlands Technical College will hold a news conference Wednesday to formally announce an agreement that allows students at the technical school to participate in activities at the private four-year college.

Benedict spokeswoman Kymm Hunter says her school and the University of South Carolina already have agreements with Midlands Technical College that makes credit transferring seamless. She says extending student programs encourages students to pursue bachelor degrees.

Benedict College is a historically black college in Columbia. Midlands Technical College is a two-year school with several campuses.
