BENNETTSVILLE - Sheriff's deputies have reopened the case of a baby found dead at a trash station in northeast South Carolina six years ago.

The Morning News of Florence reported that Marlboro County sheriff's deputies were reviewing the case of the newborn girl found dead at the county trash transfer station in Bennettsville on June 17, 2003.

Pathologists at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston were unable to determine a cause of death.

The girl had dark hair and light brown skin.

Deputies say the investigation will continue until the mother is identified.
